The Cardea Center is committed to both personal and professional growth of women, fostering partnerships with service providers and community based organizations to connect women of all ages to resources in order to prepare them to face life’s challenges and facilitate their advancement.
It’s been one year since the signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Today, women still earn, on average, only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men. We are fighting for the passage of the Paycheck Fairness Act, the essential companion legislation to the Ledbetter Act. It’s passed the House, but remains stalled in the Senate. Please urge your Senators to quickly pass the Paycheck Fairness Act.
The Senate passed an omnibus spending bill, approved days earlier by the House of Representatives, increasing by 25 percent the Department of Justice's funding to assist survivors of human trafficking! The report accompanying the bill specifies that, for the first time, this funding will be available to serve all trafficking survivors in the United States, whether they are foreign nationals or U.S. citizens. Now, the spending bill awaits President Obama's signature.

Breakfast Meetings
Cardea Center for Women invites you to join us for the monthly Networking Breakfasts 2010!
The aim is to offer intriguing presentations by compelling speakers on topics relevant to women, hear a variety of women’s voices on a range of issues and network with other women. All these sessions are held on the third Tuesday of the month from 8:00am-9:30 am.
